Cursillo is a Spanish word meaning "Short Course" it begain in Spain in the Roman Catholic Church in the early 1940's. First Roman Catholic Cursillos in the USA were held in 1957 in Spanish, and eventually in English. Taken up by the Episcopal Church in the USA in the mid 1970's and by the Anglican Church in Canada. Brought by the Canadians to Anglican Diocese of Canberra/Gouldburn in 1979, Brought to Perth Diocese by Brisbane Diocese in 1992, and taken to Bunbury Diocese by Perth Diocese in 2006.
